  REVIEW:

Transformers – those things are so cool, there should be one on every corner.  And, in fact, there is . . . that’s actually how the utility company gets power to your house - transformers.  Seriously.   Ask them.

On a planet some where out there two warring factions of robots lived.  Until, they killed their planet.  Now they are looking for a cube that can give life back to their planet.  The cube is here on earth and so are the robots.  To blend in with humanity, they take the forms of objects around us and transform into their robot selves when necessary.  Shia LeBeouf plays Sam Witwicky who’s definitely not the most popular guy in school.  He like Mikaela Banes (played by Meagan Fox) and wants to get her attention.  Nothing quite gets the attention of a girl like your beat up car turning into a robot.  Now both Sam and Mikaela know the robots are here and there are good ones and bad ones.  They also don’t realize it’s Sam’s fate to join the good robots in a fight against the bad robots to save the world.

Even though it’s about silly “car-bots” fighting for world dominance, Transformers may actually be one of the most exciting and fun movies in years.  It is, quite simply, a prime example of extraordinary filmmaking.  From the cinematography, to the writing, to even the sound . . . the movie is superb in every area, all perfectly employed together to create a wonderful theater experience.  Even the rampant brand placement doesn’t distract you from the thrilling ride, and the unparalleled audience enthusiasm makes it truly an event to behold.  Sure, the confusing robot battle scenes may run a little long for some, but otherwise the movie is near flawless.
